Extramammary Paget’s disease (EMPD) is a rare skin cancer that most often appears around the genitalia, groin and perianal regions in women and men. It can also appear elsewhere in the body. EMPD can look innocuous and is often ignored. However, early diagnosis helps tremendously with the treatment of the disease. If you suspect you might have EMPD, see your doctor. Dr. Ramin Fathi, MD graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL, with a degree in accounting. He then received his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL where he graduated at the top of his medical school class and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Fathi is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is an Associate Member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Cristian Navarrete-Dechent, MD is a board certified dermatologist from Santiago, Chile. He works both in clinical practice and as a researcher with his main interests in cutaneous oncology pathogenesis, treatment, and diagnosis. To this end, he uses total body photography, dermoscopy, reflectance confocal microscopy, optical coherence tomography, and artificial intelligence. He currently works in the Department of Dermatology of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in Santiago, Chile.
Dr. Christopher Ryan specializes in the treatment of sarcomas (rare bone and soft tissue tumors) and genitourinary cancers (kidney, bladder, prostate and testicle cancers). He strives to offer the latest treatments to his patients through clinical trials. He is inspired by his many patients who received breakthrough treatments in clinical trials before those treatments were widely available.
Dr. Catherine Harrell is a board-certified dermatologist with extensive training in medical dermatology, cutaneous oncology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Harrell has a special interest in complex medical dermatology, bullous skin disorders, psoriasis and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Pascale Guitera is a Dermatologist, originally from France, specializing in skin tumours. She has completed her PhD in collaboration with the Curie Institute (one of Europe’s leading scientific institutions) on instrumentations for the diagnosis of skin tumours. Dr. Guitera has a particular interest in the technique of in vivo confocal microscopy.
Phillip Devlin, MD, FACR is Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Division of Brachytherapy in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. He earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1991 and completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1995, followed by a specialized fellowship in brachytherapy at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in 1996.
Dr. Sophie Dessureault is a surgical oncologist in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. She is a professor of oncology and surgery at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Dessureault is widely published and is a member of numerous professional organizations.
Dr. Joseph Ivy is dedicated to providing compassionate, effective care for female cancer patients and their families. He passionately believes that cancer care should focus on providing the best possible quality of life and chance of recovery for his patients. Dr. Ivy uses minimally invasive techniques whenever possible in his surgical practice.
Dr. Janiel Cragun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Arizona. She is fellowship-trained in the specialty of gynecology oncology. Dr. Cragun offers surgical interventions to include both radical and minimally invasive procedures. She also offers chemotherapeutic and palliative interventions.
Dr. Wilson is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Wilson was the first woman to join the Urologic faculty at the University. She is subspecialty trained in Oncology and is further subspecialty trained in robotic surgery. Dr. Wilson's interests include bladder, kidney, prostate, testicular, and penile cancer. She is also actively involved in clinical and basic science research to improve outcomes in patients diagnosed with genitourinary malignancy.
Tyler Ford, MD, is a gynecologic oncologist in Richmond, VA. Dr. Ford earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Dr. Ford’s specialties include minimally-invasive surgical techniques treating specific gynecologic cancers, as well as clinical research.
Dr. Silvina Pugliese, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Attending Physician at the Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center and Stanford Cancer Institute. She attended medical school at Boston University and completed her residency at Loma Linda, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Pugliese is interested in the management of cutaneous complications associated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, organ transplantation, and their impact on patient quality of life.
Dr. Sumaira Z. Aasi, M.D., is a Professor of Dermatology and Director of Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Aasi completed a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cutaneous oncology at Yale University where she was on faculty and served as Associate Chief. Dr. Aasi clinical interests include management of high risk nonmelanoma skin cancers, Mohs histopathology, and reconstructive surgery.
