Extramammary Paget’s disease (EMPD) is a rare skin cancer that most often appears around the genitalia, groin and perianal regions in women and men. It can also appear elsewhere in the body. EMPD can look innocuous and is often ignored. However, early diagnosis helps tremendously with the treatment of the disease. If you suspect you might have EMPD, see your doctor. Dr. Jon Stuart Hourigan, MD, FACS, FASCRS was born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Dr. Hourigan’s clinical interests include the comprehensive treatment of colon cancer and rectal cancer, surgical management of inflammatory bowel disease and diverticulitis, and the treatment of benign anorectal disorders. He is an expert in both traditional and minimally invasive approaches for colon and rectal diseases.
Dr. Janice Rafferty, MD, is a colorectal surgeon at The Christ Hospital and Professor of surgery at the University of Cincinnati, college of Medicine. She brings over 20 years of experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and other digestive diseases.
Dr Fox-McClary earned her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, followed by a Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery. Board certified in both specialties of General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery, Dr. Fox-McClary is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Andreas Kaiser, MD, graduated in 1988 from the University of Zurich in Switzerland. After an internship in Surgical Pathology, Dr. Kaiser trained in General Surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich, interrupted by a two year research fellowship at Harvard Medical School. He completed a fellowship in Visceral Surgery at the University Hospital in Zurich, and in Colorectal Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.
